Our Work

The Rwanda SRHR Coalition works to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights through capacity strengthening, collective advocacy, collaboration and evidence generation. We bring together SRHR actors to coordinate efforts, influence change and ensure that the voices of communities are reflected in policies, programmes and decision-making processes.

Convening and Coordinating SRHR Actors

We organize and convene civil society organizations, networks, youth-led organizations, researchers, advocates and other stakeholders working on SRHR in Rwanda. Through meetings, consultations, working groups and joint planning, we strengthen coordination, information sharing and collaboration among actors.

Capacity Building for SRHR Advocacy

We strengthen the knowledge, skills and confidence of Coalition members and other SRHR actors to engage effectively in advocacy. This includes learning opportunities, mentorship, peer exchange and practical support on SRHR advocacy, policy engagement, research use, communications and movement building.

Advocacy for Inclusive SRHR Policies and Laws

Advocacy is at the centre of our work. We advocate for inclusive, rights-based and evidence-informed laws, policies, programmes and accountability mechanisms that promote and protect sexual and reproductive health and rights for all individuals in Rwanda.

We engage in policy dialogue, collective advocacy actions, joint statements, campaigns and other advocacy initiatives to influence decision-makers and advance SRHR priorities.

Research and Evidence Generation

We support research, documentation and data synthesis to generate evidence on SRHR issues in Rwanda. This evidence strengthens advocacy, informs policy engagement, supports learning among members and contributes to more responsive SRHR programmes and services.

Amplifying Community Voices

We work to ensure that the experiences, needs and priorities of communities are heard and reflected in SRHR advocacy. Through campaigns, community engagement and public communication, we amplify community voices and promote meaningful participation in decisions that affect their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Building Collective Action

We promote joint action among Coalition members to increase the impact of SRHR advocacy in Rwanda. By bringing together diverse expertise, experiences and resources, we strengthen solidarity, reduce duplication of efforts and create a more coordinated and effective SRHR movement.
