Membership

 

Membership to the SRHR-Rwanda Coalition is broad-based. It includes CSOs and professional bodies such as think tanks, academia, research institutions, registered media houses or associations that are willing to come together and promote SRHR and who fully subscribe to the regulations and principles of the Coalition.   

All members of the coalition shall complete a simple membership application form in which members state their commitment to promote SRHR and subscribe to the principles of the Coalition as elaborated in this strategy. For a broad-based membership, a membership application form shall be widely disseminated to potential members based on their interests to the purpose and objectives of the coalition. The coalition shall be constituted upon attainment of minimum 15 completed membership application forms. 

New members shall upon  completion of the form, be approved by a constituted Governing committee based on pre-determined criteria. 

Termination of membership can be voluntary or based on disciplinary actions. Termination of membership must be in writing signed by dully appointed representatives of the organization. Termination on disciplinary grounds must be approved by at least 2/3 of the coalition members in a duly convened ordinary or ad-hoc conference of members.  

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF COALITION MEMBERS

  • Actively engage in advocacy efforts to promote Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights within Rwanda.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of skills and knowledge within SRHR-Rwanda Coalition.
  • Actively engage in collaborative efforts with other members and external partners.
  • Contribute to the gathering and analysis of data related to sexual reproductive health
  • Connect with and engage local communities to address their specific needs.
  • Advocate for supportive policies and legal frameworks related to sexual and reproductive health
  • Contribute to effective communication within SRHR-Rwanda Coalition and with external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of SRHR-Rwanda Coalition impact and effectiveness.
  • Promote inclusivity and diversity within SRHR-Rwanda Coalition and its activities.
  • Contribute to the financial and material resources needed for SRHR-Rwanda Coalition activities.
  • Share organizations’ logos for branding and communication purposes of the coalition.
